How long will a session last?
The session length will depend on which package you have booked. If there is any stoppages during the session for whatever reason, I don't mind adding some extra time in case I haven't covered all the shots.
Can we book a weekend appointment?
Absolutely!! I understand a lot of people find the weekends easier to work around regarding school and work. Weekends are pretty busy so if you do want a weekend shoot, please get in touch at the earliest opportunity.
Will we have to pose?
Personally, I don't like to try and pose people. Photos are always way more authentic when taken naturally. I can give direction or some guidance but the more natural they, the more raw emotion comes through on the photos. Without the posing, it gives the session a more relaxed vibe.
What if my baby/toddler does not cooperate?
We can negotiate a time around their sleeping and feeding times to give us the best opportunity at having a happy child. Bring some snacks and some of their favourite items whether it is a bear or toy. We try not to use them at the beginning but during to keep interaction and so they don't get bored. Not to worry if they don't look at the camera straight away. I often find when they aren't looking at the camera, but at you or a noise, they pull the most curious, sweet faces - picture perfect I could say!
Do I have to bring anything for the cake smash?
I can supply the decorations but if you have something you wish to add, that is fine. The only thing I do not supply is the cake. Due to health and safety with allergies, I prefer the cake is purchased/made by yourself. Other than that, maybe just a spare change of clothes...
How do I book an appointment for a photo shoot?
There are a few ways of booking. Either through my contact form on this website, through my Facebook page, email or by phone. You can find my email and phone number at the bottom of the page.
We would like a location shoot, but what if the weather is not looking very good?
If the weather is looking pretty serious with thunderstorms or torrential rain, then it is not a problem to reschedule to the next available date to suit both parties. Some things we may get away with ie - fine rain in a forest. We are pretty well covered there. Snow isn't a problem as long as it is not sunny as well. Cold but it becomes very bright. Believe it or not but the glorious sunny days we love to enjoy outside are actually a photographers nightmare at times. They create harsh contrasting tones of bright light and dark shade. Over cast, cloudy dull days are best for shoots outside. The best lighting if it is a lovely day is first thing in the morning or as we call 'The Golden Hour' which is the hour prior to sunrise/sunset. With this light we can create some beautiful images.
Where is the studio located?
My studio is located North of Christchurch City in Casebrook just off the Main North Road.
How long does it take to receive my images?
First off, it will take about one week to receive your online viewing gallery where you can see your images and decide which ones you would like as your digital copies, and which ones you would like as your prints. Once you have chosen, please allow 3-5 working days for your prints and allow 24-48 hours for your private online gallery where you can download your images. If your digital images are to be on a USB, then I will deliver USB and/or prints within that next time frame of 24-48 hours.
Do you travel?
Absolutely. Christchurch has some amazing locations that sometimes, you don't even know are there! Travelling to a location has an air of road tripping to it and I love it. Anywhere outside of the Christchurch area would incur travel fees. Please mention your desired location when booking and I can work this into the price.
